What is piece dyeing?

Piece dyeing is the dyeing process of the semi-finished products.

Why piece dyeing?

Piece dyeing is preferred in order to be able to go into production even with low quantities and it also helps to catch up short termins.

What are the risks involved?

There are many unstable variables which would bring different types of problems.

What are these variables?

  • Zips and metal accessories
  • Buttons and stoppers
  • Embroidery, brode- polyester lining, miflone and fibres used in jackets
  • Sewing thread
  • Fabrics and Problems

What are the problems involved with the use of zips and/or other metal accessories?

Due to the metallic properties of the zips, they are the most common problem causing factors. Some chemicals used in dyeing progress gets in reaction with metals. In this case either the product or the zip is damaged. If polyester based zips are used, dyeing of the zips should be performed carefully. Otherwise they may damage the product itself. Thus, the election of the zips is an important step in production and the producers should be in contact with the washing and dyeing facilities.
