Year by year

From a laundry in Bayrampaşa to a garment group producing for Europe — and from 2026, a facility in Port Said.

1968

Brothers Bahri and Necmettin Yılmaz establish the Yılmaz Laundry Factory in Bayrampaşa, washing linen for hotels, hospitals and restaurants.

1972

The plant moves to Gaziosmanpaşa to serve under better conditions. The partners are Bahri, Burhan and Ali Haydar Yılmaz.

1977

Ahmet Feyruz Yılmaz completes his education and joins the partnership in place of Bahri Yılmaz.

1981

As garment exports rise, textile washing gains importance — with Yılmaz Laundry leading the way. The first customer is Güneş Giyim.

1982

AKFIL produces indigo jeans in Türkiye for the first time and blue-jean washing begins.

1983

The first work on piece dyeing is carried out and the bleaching method is introduced in denim washing.

1984

YILMAZ Textile Washing and Dyeing is founded, running washing and dyeing together with fifteen 60 kg machines and three dryers, and hires its first chemical engineer.

1985

The land of today's Güneşli factory is purchased. A second washing plant opens in Gaziosmanpaşa under the name YILTEKS, and the laundry business is left behind entirely.

1986

YILTEKS moves onto the Güneşli site. Larger drums replace classic washing vessels, making YILTEKS a pioneer in the sector; work with exporting companies intensifies.

1989

The two companies merge under the YILTEKS name, taking an important place in the market with technological development and experienced chemical engineers.

1990

Three shifts run with 170 workers, and YILTEKS begins manufacturing machinery suited to its own operating conditions.

1991

The old machinery park is completely replaced.

1996

The foundation of a new facility is laid in Çorlu, and YILTEKS Garment is founded.

1997

The Güneşli factory works with 300 staff on 10,000 m², reaching 60,000 pieces a day in washing and 10 tonnes a day in dyeing, with its own R&D laboratory.

1998

The Çorlu facilities open. YILTEKS Garment produces 50,000 blue jeans a month for export to Europe.

1999

Yılmak Machinery is founded to design and produce the washing and dyeing units the textile and garment sectors need.

2001

A barcoded production-tracking system is introduced to improve customer satisfaction and production follow-up.

2002

YILTEM Garment is founded and quickly reaches a monthly capacity of 250,000 pieces, growing from small-volume orders.

2007

Organic washing certification is obtained and vegetable-dyeing processes begin.

YILSU Machinery is added so that growing water demand can be stored healthily and hygienically.
